Ear and Hearing Disorders We provide
the full spectrum of adult and child ear healthcare
including treatment of outer, middle, and inner ear
infections, hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing),
dizziness, vertigo, eardrum perforations, ear pressure
and pain, and removal of ear wax, growths, skin
cancers, and foreign bodies. We have four full-time
certified clinical audiologists, including a pediatric
specialist, who staff all 3 locations and who assist
our board-certified physicians in diagnosing your or
your child's ear or hearing disorder. Because of
our specialized ear equipment, instruments, and
microscopes, we can appropriately begin treating you as
soon as the first visit.
Our comprehensive approach to ear and hearing
healthcare allows our patients to obtain in-house
consultation for hearing aids, allergy testing for
allergy-related hearing or balance disorders, and
plastic or reconstructive surgery for torn earlobes,
ear piercings, otoplasty (pinning ears back), and skin
lesion removal.
Hearing Aids
Northside Hearing Center, a division of Northside ENT,
P.C., offers a full range of high quality hearing aids
to suit your individual hearing requirements and
lifestyle. All of our hearing aids feature digital
signal processing to maximize speech intelligibility
and fitting flexibility. Ranging in size from very
small CIC (completely in the canal) to discreet
behind-the-ear models, we offer a variety of styles to
fit your lifestyle and budget. We are available on-site
at all three Northside ENT locations for comprehensive
audiology and hearing aid services.
New open fit products combine superior natural sound
quality with discrete cosmetic appeal. Designed for
patients with mild-to-moderate high frequency hearing
loss, these open technology products feature thin
tubing and an ergonomic design that creates a small and
feather-light product that practically disappears
behind your ear. Rechargeable batteries are available
for some open fit products.
The achievement of excellence in hearing services by
the Northside Hearing Center has earned the trust of
area physicians, insurance companies, and patients for
more than 25 years. We welcome your questions and
inquiries and encourage you to seek more information
about the Northside Hearing Center by visiting our

Nasal and Sinus Disorders
All of our board-certified ENT physicians specialize
in nasal and sinus disorders. Nasal and sinus issues
include nasal obstruction, septal deviation,
nosebleeds, chronic congestion, post nasal drip,
recurrent bacterial or fungal sinus infections, nasal
polyps, snoring, sleep apnea, intolerance of CPAP/BIPAP
machines, nasal and sinus fractures, crooked noses,
allergic disease, lack of smell, nasal masses, nasal
skin lesions, and much more.
Dedicated to providing the best in nasal and sinus
healthcare, we are proud to have the most up-to-date
in-office sinus equipment including fiberoptic
endoscopes, pediatric endoscopes, in-office CT scanner
(takes 20 seconds to obtain a CT scan of the sinuses),
board-certified allergy practice, and outpatient
surgery center specializing in nasal and sinus
procedures.
Our comprehensive nasal care also encompasses plastic
and reconstructive surgery of the nose and surrounding
features. Procedures such as hump removal or narrowing
of the nasal tip, eyelid surgery, chemical peels, and
facelifts can be performed at the same time as many
nasal or sinus procedures by our facial plastic
surgeon.
Allergy and Asthma
Generally, most of us think of runny noses, itchy
watery eyes, and sneezing when we think of allergies.
Though these are common symptoms, untreated allergies
can also lead to recurrent ear infections, muffled
hearing, dizziness, recurrent sinus infections,
post-nasal drip, nasal obstruction, nasal polyps,
chronic cough, mouth breathing, snoring, and
hoarseness. In an effort to provide the most
comprehensive head and neck care, we realized the need
for optimizing allergy and asthma care for our
patients.
Northside ENT has a board-certified pediatric and
adult allergy and asthma practice which covers all
areas of adult and pediatric allergy and immunology,
including allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, chronic
cough, allergen immunotherapy, skin testing, food
allergy, hives, drug allergy, anaphylaxis and
generalized immune deficiencies. Our board-certified
allergist, Dr. Tom Chacko, works closely with our
board-certified ENT physicians to maximize your allergy
and asthma treatment and to improve your overall
quality of life. Please visit www.northsideallergy.com
for more information about our allergy practice.

Pediatric Services
Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat offers a broad range
of services specifically geared to the pediatric
patient. Dr. Thomas Chacko is board-certified in
pediatric allergy and asthma. Dr. Maureen Riski, our
pediatric audiologist, specializes in pediatric hearing
problems and is nationally known for her work in
fitting pediatric hearing aids. Our board-certified
surgeons each have had extensive experience and
training in treating medical and surgical pediatric
problems, such as ear infections, tonsil infections,
nosebleeds, chronic runny noses, allergic disease,
recurrent sinus disease, snoring, mouth-breathing, and
hearing loss. This includes decades of experience with
tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear tube placement,
pediatric sinus surgery, pediatric sleep apnea, ear
surgery, and removal of head and neck tumors. Dr. Mike
Majmundar, our facial plastic surgeon, has training in
pediatric craniofacial surgery, such as cleft lip and
palate repair, and facial trauma injuries in children
and adolescents.
Facial Plastic Surgery To further our goal of providing comprehensive head
and neck care, Northside ENT also offers a
fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive
surgery practice which focuses exclusively on cosmetic
and reconstructive care of the face and neck only. Dr.
Mike Majmundar, our facial plastic surgeon, offers a
full range of rejuvenating surgical procedures, such as
rhinoplasty, facelift surgery, eyelid surgery, ear
shaping, neck liposuction, and many others, as well as
enhancing in-office cosmetic treatments, such as facial
fillers (Radiesse, Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra),
Botox, MicroPeels, and our comprehensive skin care
line. Many of our cosmetic procedures can be performed
at the same time under the same anesthesia as other
ear, nose, and throat surgeries with only one recovery
period. For a complimentary consultation, call our
office at 770-475-3361, or visit us at
www.northsideplasticsurgery.com. We may be able to
schedule your consultation at the same time as your ENT
appointment.
Dr. Majmundar also performs several facial
reconstructive procedures including oculoplastic
surgery for treatment of droopy eyelids, eyelid ptosis,
ectropion, entropion, and eyelid lesions; repair of
nasal, orbital, and other facial fractures; scar
revision; treatment of facial paralysis (Bell's
palsy); Moh's reconstruction of facial cancer
defects; and repair of cleft lip and palate
defects.

Head and Neck Cancer The physicians
of Northside ENT are highly skilled at diagnosing and
treating a wide array of both benign and cancerous
tumors of the head and neck region. Adult and pediatric
patients with abnormal enlargement in any of the
salivary glands, the thyroid gland, or lymph nodes of
the head, face, or neck will be skillfully and
compassionately treated from the initial office visit
through the completion of any necessary treatment. We
utilize both our medical office and our brand new,
state-of-the-art surgery center, if necessary, to help
us determine the exact nature of your problem.
We routinely utilize minimally invasive surgical
techniques and high-tech modalities such as
intraoperative nerve monitoring to allow us to remove
lesions completely with the best functional and
cosmetic outcome as well. All of our board-certified
physicians have significant experience treating tumors
of the ear, nose, throat, and neck, and Dr. Craig
Richman is one of only a few fellowship-trained head
and neck surgical specialists in the metropolitan
Atlanta area. He routinely coordinates complex cancer
cases with colleagues in medical and radiation
oncology, having recently served as moderator of the
Northside Hospital Interdisciplinary Tumor Conference
and currently serving as a member of the Northside
Hospital Cancer Committee. If you or someone you know
has any concern regarding an abnormal growth in the
head and neck region, count on the physicians of
Northside ENT for state-of-the art care provided in a
warm and welcoming environment.
Snoring and Sleep Disorders
Patients with difficulty sleeping at night and/or
feeling tired during the daytime will find that the
board-certified physicians of Northside ENT can help
them get a good night's sleep once again. Those who
have been told that their snoring is disruptive to
others will be pleased to learn that our doctors can
diagnose the location of origin of the
problem-generally the nose or the back of the throat,
and sometimes both-and then offer multiple treatment
options. When nasal obstruction causes snoring, a
minimally invasive, in-office procedure may be utilized
to shrink the tissues in the sidewall of the nose,
thereby improving airflow and reducing snoring. When
the problem is at the level of the palate, an awake,
in-office radiofrequency reduction and stiffening of
the soft palate or placement of soft implants into the
roof of the mouth may help to silence the disruptive
noise. If the problem goes beyond snoring and is
characterized by gasping for air at night or stopping
breathing, our physicians may arrange an overnight
sleep study in a nearby state-of-the-art sleep lab. If
sleep apnea is evident, we help our patients by
initiating non-surgical treatment such as Continuous
Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), or by proceeding with
surgical options aimed at addressing narrowing at any
point in the airway from the tip of the nose to the
back of the mouth and then down into the throat. Each
patient is unique, and our doctors will work with you
to identify the exact nature and location(s) of
nighttime airway obstruction and address your problem
skillfully and compassionately. If you're ready to
start sleeping better, call Northside ENT today to
arrange a consultation with one of our
specialists.
Voice and Swallowing Disorders
Difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, and throat pain are
common ENT complaints that can be caused by several
different entities including infection, inflammation,
acid reflux, and growths such as vocal cord polyps or
throat cancer. Using small flexible fiberoptic
endoscopes, we can visualize the voice box and the
beginning of the esophagus and help determine the cause
of the voice or swallowing problem. Treatment can
include voice rest, medications, speech or swallowing
therapy, or surgery.
